Our DBT Services
We specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with over 20 combined years of DBT practice since our initial DBT training. Our program operates on the assumption that people do the best they can. Yet ways of coping that have helped sensitive or traumatized people survive can also create major problems in their lives (and perhaps in the lives of people around them). Common attempts to regulate strong emotions include substance abuse, impulsive actions, self-injury or eating disorders. When nothing works to regulate emotions, angry outbursts or suicide attempts can result.
When our clients choose DBT, they are taught skillful ways to regulate their emotions, deal with distressing situations and improve their relationships. These skills are taught in weekly DBT Skills Training classes and reinforced in individual DBT sessions. If needed, we provide phone coaching between sessions. Family sessions are also available as needed. |
Our Other Services
We also provide other types of evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples and families, including the following types of therapy that are negotiated with our clients to meet their individual needs:
For mental health professionals we offer clinical supervision and DBT Consultation Team. |
